Criminal case was initiated regarding case of ANAMA employee's blown on an anti-personnel mine- OFFICIAL

The Armenian armed forces committing another provocative actions while sowing mines as far as they are retreating as a result of successful operations of the Azerbaijani Army continue their criminal deeds against our peaceful residents by using new methods already, the General Prosecutor’s Office told APA.

Employee of the National Agency for Mine Action of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) Zeynalov Telman Babir sent on business trip to Mehdili village of Jabrail region in connection with search for unexploded weapons and ammunitions on November 2, 2020 sustained injury described as traumatic amputation of extremities of left leg below ankle as a result of stepping on mine. 

The visual inspection of the scene of incident was immediately carried out by employees of the prosecutor’s office, the forensic and medical examination was appointed, other procedural actions were performed.

The criminal case was initiated into this case by the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan based on clauses 100.2 (planning, preparation, starting or waging aggressive war), 116.0.6 (violation of norms of international humanitarian law during armed conflict) and other clauses of the Criminal Code and the implementation of the investigation was assigned to the Investigation department of the General Prosecutor’s Office.

Currently, the intensive investigation actions are implemented by employees of the prosecutor’s office.
