Ministry of Defense Industry is switched over to uninterrupted working mode

The Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) was established in 2005 by initiative of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in order to constantly keep at high level the combat readiness of our Armed Forces, the MDI told APA.

In order to satisfy demands of the Armed Forces, the works of development, production, modernization, repair and utilization of the most up-to-date and new types of weapons and military equipment and other products of military purpose of the world’s leading states are implemented at production units and enterprises of the Ministry of Defense Industry.

Currently, along with drawing up of regulatory and technical documents (design and technological documentation) of over 2,000 titles of weapons and military equipment, aviation, engineering, communication, optic and other products of military purpose, their mastering is also implemented by the production units and enterprises subordinated to the MDI. Since commencement of the battles, the specialists of MDI together with military servicemen of the Armed Forces conduct tests of new types of weapons and combat ammunitions on both on the testing benches at the manufacturing enterprise and in regard to their maximum compliance with combat conditions at military training areas and the military units are supplied with them in the determined manner. In order to improve tactical and technical indicators of products in real combat conditions in connection with implementation and completion of the development (technical and designing) works at production units and enterprises of MDI, certain tests are conducted based on technical requirements of the Armed Forces, the comments and errors are taken into consideration and are immediately eliminated at the manufacturing enterprises.

In order to support the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the production units and enterprises of the MDI have been switched over to uninterrupted working mode. Currently, the manufactured products of military purpose are stored at ready product storehouses.

In order to ensure timely and operative implementation of repair and restoration works, by instruction of the MDI, the relevant repair bases and sites are established on areas close to the combat zones and their 24 hour functioning is ensured.
