One more former Deputy Defense Minister of Azerbaijan passes away

Lieutenant General Mammadov Fuad Nadir died of heart failure on August 10, 2020, Ministry of Defense told APA.

F. Mammadov was born on January 31, 1968, in Baku. He graduated from the Military Lyceum named after division commander Jamshid Nakhchivanski in 1985. He graduated from Riga Higher Military Aviation Engineering School in 1990 and continued his service in Transcaucasian Military District from then until 1992.

He participated in the battles for the sake of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He served as a group leader in Air Force of Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 1992, Deputy Squadron Commander, Chief Engineer, Deputy Commander of the Air Force on material and technical support.

He served as Deputy Minister of Defense on material and technical support- Head of the Main material and technical support department from August 20 2015 until July 8, 2020.

He was awarded various prizes and medals for many times for proper fulfillment of his service duty. He was the Veteran of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Veteran of War.

The minister of Defense, colonel-general Zakir Hasanov, the first deputy minister of Defense – the chief of the Main Staff of the Armed Forces, colonel-general Nejmeddin Sadikov, colonel-general Kerem Mustafayev, lieutenant-general Kerim Veliyev, and lieutenant-general Ramiz Tahirov, lieutenant-general Nizam Osmanov expressed their condolences on the occasion of the death of F. Mammadov.
