Swiss company obtained illegal income of over AZN 300 million from Azerbaijan’s Vezhneli gold deposit - OFFICIAL

As was reported, the criminal cases have been initiated in the Investigation Department of General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the cases of engagement in illegal entrepreneurial activity that resulted in blatant violation of rules of exploitation of ecology and Earth’s interior by the persons of Armenian origin being citizens of foreign states on the territories of the occupied Lachin, Kelbejer and other occupied regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office told APA.

One of those criminal cases was associated with Vezhneli village of the Zangilan region that was occupied but was liberated from occupation in recent days as a result of the successful operations of our National Army.

Thus, it was determined during the investigation by the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan based on the decision of the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office that the Base Metals Closed Joint Stock Company is an affiliate of the Vallex Group group of companies that passed official registration in the Swiss Confederation that obtained income by engaging in illegal entrepreneurial activity from non-ferrous metal deposits in Vezhneli village of Zangilan region obtained illegal income totaling to AZN 301 million 918 thousand during 2009-2017.
