Azerbaijan, Netherlands mull military co-op prospects

Baku – APA. On November 10, Azerbaijan's Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Azerbaijan, Onno Kervers.

The sides conducted a wide exchange of views on the military and political situation in the region, military cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands, both in the bilateral format and within the framework of NATO, the joint fight against international terrorism, as well as issues of partnership in the field of military education, training,

In turn, the ambassador highly appreciated military relations between the two countries, both in the bilateral format and within the framework of NATO, thanked the Azerbaijani side for the contribution to the international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, and in general for the successful cooperation.

Recalling the position of the Alliance at the last NATO summit in Warsaw regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador stressed that the Netherlands as well as NATO and other international organizations supports a peaceful solution to the conflict within the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

The defense minister wished success the ambassador in his diplomatic activity aimed at contributing to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands.
