Azerbaijan, Turkey continue "TurAz Qartalı 2017" joint exercise

The flights of combat aircraft of the Air Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey are underway in the course of the joint flight-tactical exercises dubbed “TurAz Qartalı 2017", the Defense Ministry told APA on Tuesday.

During the exercises the military aviation of the two countries conducts flights with the aim to fulfill tasks on planning the joint activities, studying the possibilities for interoperability in conducting operations and combat coordination, implementation of search and rescue operations, destruction of ground targets with air strikes, as well as other tasks.

"TurAz Qartalı 2017" joint exercises were launched on Sept. 18, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told APA on Sept. 18.

The exercises that will continue till Sept. 30 involve up to 30 aircraft of the air forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey, including MiG-29, F-16, Su-25, C-130 Hercules, CASA CN-235 planes, as well as Mi-35, Mi-17 and Sikorsky S-70 helicopters.
