Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. Enterprises of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry have manufactured 81% defense and special-purpose products and 19% civil products in the past nine months of 2016.
The announcement was made at a meeting dedicated to the results of activities carried out in January-September 2016.
It was mentioned that the number of defense products manufactured and handed over to customers have increased by 17.6% and their diversity twice as many compared to the past year’s same period. Also, the same figure about civil products has increased by 8.2%.
Over the past period efforts to create new areas for the further manufacturing of defense products were continued. Throughout the reporting period, works intended to be accomplished this year were continued. Defense products manufactured on contracts signed with law enforcement agencies were handed over to the customers. At the same time, efforts were continued to expand manufacturing of civil products.
In accordance with the 2016 program, 198-level constructive works on 115 themes are ongoing. The ministry’s scientific research institute continued researches and constructive works on 14 themes this year on state order. The scientific-technical council operating under the ministry held three meetings, during which a number of issues were discussed and concrete proposals made.
