Azerbaijani servicemen attends NATO exercise in Georgia

Noble Partner 2018, a NATO multinational exercise, kicked off at Georgia’s Vaziani military base on August 1.

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, Defense Minister Levon Izoria, government members, representatives of diplomatic corps, military attachés and other officials took part in the official opening ceremony of the exercise, APA’s Georgia bureau reports.

Addressing the opening ceremony, President Margvelashvili emphasized the importance of the Noble Partner 2018 exercise in terms of ensuring security in the region.

Prime Minister Bakhtadze said that the military exercise is not directed against any country. “The main purpose of the exercise is to improve the professionalism of servicemen from Georgia and its partner countries,” he added.

The exercise bring together more than 3,000 servicemen from Azerbaijan, Georgia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, France, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine and Armenia.

The Noble Partner 2018 multinational exercise is held for the fourth time in Georgia. This year, the exercise is larger-scaled. The number of military equipment of the U.S. aviation and German armored vehicles were also increased.
