Ganja Marathon-2017, organized at initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation kicks off - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

Winners of Ganja Marathon-2017 announced

The winners of the Ganja Marathon-2017, held at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, were announced.

Turkish citizen Uzeyir Soilemez ranked first, followed by Iranian citizen Muhammad Jafar Muradi ranking second and Georgian citizen Timuraz Baikeev ranking third.

Among women, Ukrainian citizen Valentina Poltavyska ranked first.

The Ganja Marathon-2017 is held with the support of the Regional Development Public Association of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ganja City Executive Authority. Azercell Telecom is the exclusive partner of the marathon. Implementation of the project will be performed by Sport Marketing Group (SMG).

Ganja Marathon-2017, organized at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has started.

Marathon covers a distance of 17 kilometers, starting at the Triumphal arch and finishing in the Park Complex named after Heydar Aliyev.

With its ancient history, Ganja city will be the first city to host the marathon among the regions, under the slogan of "Make history by your will" and "Be with us at the marathon".

The project aims to support the development of sport in regions, healthy lifestyle, as well as propagate the ideas of solidarity for benevolent purposes amongst people of different ages in the regions of Azerbaijan.

Individuals and corporate participants will not make any payments, as the necessary funds are met by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The awards ceremony of the Ganja Marathon-2017 will take place in two categories. Both male and female participants of the marathon will compete for the first three places.

Organizers will award the prizes, as well as gifts and medals and certificates in male and female categories.
