Martyred Azerbaijani soldier laid to rest in hometown

Barda. Ziya Amirkhanli – APA. Azerbaijani soldier Sahil Mammadov, who was killed on October 5 evening as Armenian armed forces shelled the Azerbaijani army positions, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Barda. 

 

 

The funeral was attended by officers of the Defense Ministry, the martyr’s fellow soldiers, officials of the Barda District Executive Power and locals.

 

The martyred Azerbaijani soldier was buried after a three-volley salute was performed.  

 

Sahil Mammadov was killed on October 5 evening as Armenian armed forces shelled the Azerbaijani army positions, said Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry on Oct. 6.

 

Defense Ministry's leadership expressed its deep condolences to the family and relatives of the martyr and wished them patience.

 

Armenia again started to carry out provocative actions to escalate the situation on the frontline, stressed Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry.

 

The Azerbaijani side reiterates that Armenia’s military and political leadership bears full responsibility for the next bloody provocations on the contact line between the two countries’ troops, the ministry added.
