Azerbaijani soldier Zakir Jafarov, who died fighting to prevent an armed provocation by Armenian armed forces a few days ago, was today laid to rest in the Keshle settlement of Baku, APA reported.
The funeral was attended by representatives of the Defense Ministry, State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Nizami district executive authority, staff of district law enforcement authorities, agencies and organizations, thousands of public representatives, soldiers and officers of the military unit he served in.
The martyr's body was carried on the shoulders from the mosque to Keshle village cemetery. Zakir Jafarov was from Aghdam district.
The Azerbaijani national flag covering the coffin was presented to the bereaved father.
