Azerbaijan increased gas consumption by 9% last year

Last year, total domestic natural gas consumption in Azerbaijan was 11,5 bln. cubic metres after deduction of technical costs and losses during the year which is 918 mln cubic metres or 8.7% more in comparison to the indicator of 2018, APA-Economics reports citing SOCAR.

The great part of growth related to the rise of production level in the gas and chemical industry, especially the launch of activity of Carbamide and Methanol plants of SOCAR which uses natural gas as raw material.

“As a result of the expansion of gas infrastructure in the country the level of gas consumption among the population has increased by 8.5% too,” the information reads.
