BP: Last preparation works conducted to start drilling at "Shafag-Asiman" block of fields

In the forthcoming days, the BP Company plans to start drilling of the first exploration well SAX01 at the “Shafag-Asiman” block of promising fields situated in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Tamam Bayatli, Head of Public Relations Department of "BP-Azerbaijan" Company told "APA-Economics".

She said currently last preparation works were being implemented in order to start the drilling operation.

"We have completed all works. And now the last preparation works are being conducted in order to start the drilling operation in the forthcoming years", - T. Bayatli said.

Note that drilling of the well will be carried out with "Heydar Aliyev" Semi-Submersible Drilling Rig (operator of the rig - "Caspian Drilling Company Ltd" (CDC)).

Remind that drilling works (as well as testing activity of the well) at Shafag-Asiman block will last for 12 months. Generally, works of drilling the first exploration well – SAX01 in this promising block will continue 604 days.
