Beginning from February 10, the demand for gas has increased significantly more than expected for the first time, “Azerigas” PA told “APA-Economics”.

On the mentioned date the countrywide daily demand for gas reached 41 mln. Cubic meters which is 28% more as compared with relevant period of last year. On this day last year (February 10, 2019) the demand for gas was about 32 mln. cubic meters. According to gas consumption experience in 2019 the daily demand for gas didn’t exceed 35 mln. cubic meters (the maximum indicator – editor’s note).

The report says currently the demand for gas of the whole Baku City exceeds 22 mln. cubic meters (17 mln. cubic meters in 2019), and the demand for gas of the remaining regions of the country makes up more than 17 mln. cubic meters (13 mln. cubic meters in 2019).

“The growth of number of gas supply service subscribers, the debt forgiveness granted by “Azerigas” Production Association to the greenhouse owners indebted for use of gas, the timely satisfaction of industrial enterprises’ need in gas, as well as maintenance of the gas supply network in operable condition and implementation of normal gas supply in accordance with required consumption modes stand at the origins of the reality of growth of the demand to this level”, the report notes.
