Italian companies executed contract agreements worth USD 10 bln. in Azerbaijan so far

Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, co-chair of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Republic of Italy Parviz Shahbazov has met with the delegation, led by Deputy Speaker of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Ettore Rosato, Ministry told APA-Economics.
P. Shahbazon noted he highly appreciates the visit of the delegation, consisting of deputies representing different parties of Italy to Azerbaijan, their visit to territories, liberated from occupation, and getting acknowledged with the destruction caused by the Armenian side closely in such a complex period due to global pandemic, stressed the visit shows Italy's support to Azerbaijan in such a period, which is very important for our country and expressed gratitude for the support.
During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation in the field of energy plays an important role in the development of relations between the two countries. The special importance of the Southern Gas Corridor and its important component, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, was emphasized in this cooperation, it was noted that Azerbaijani gas is expected to be transported to Europe via the corridor by the end of this year. As well, it was noted, high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy covers other economic areas, and Italian companies have so far implemented contract-agreements in the amount of $ 10 billion in oil and non-oil sectors.
