SOCAR and Gazprom signed a short-term agreement on transportation of Russian gas, APA-Economics reports citing Russian media.

This will allow for the continuation of gas supplies to consumers in Armenia (through the territory of Azerbaijan - ed.) during the scheduled repair work on the North Caucasus - Transcaucasia gas pipeline.

According to the information, the agreement was signed between the two parties on March 16. According to the agreement, the gas will be delivered to consumers through the territory of Azerbaijan to the Georgian border during the planned preventive maintenance work of the Russian part of the pipeline. It was noted that repair work can take about three weeks. After completion of the work, the gas will be transported via the previous route - the Russian and Georgian border.

SOCAR told APA-Economics that the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia main pipeline is being temporarily repaired.
