From July the number of coronavirus cases on SOCAR's offshore platforms sharply decreased and mass infection cases are not observed. The majority of infection cases is detected as a result of first or repeated test results conducted during the quarantine period, Deputy Head of SOCAR's Public Relations and Events Department Ibrahim Ahmadov told APA-Economics.
“I would like to note that until July quarantine period determined before the work shift on SOCAR's offshore platforms was 3 days and in that case, mass infection cases were observed. In order to prevent it quarantine period was extended up to 7 days and as a result the number of infection cases on the platform decreased. The quarantine period of up to 7 days is in accordance with the recommendations of the WHO, as well as organizations of oil companies and has given a very positive result in SOCAR,” said I. Ahmadov.
