SOCAR launched negotiations with new potential partners on its project in Turkey

“SOCAR Turkey” discusses the issues on the construction of new petrochemical complex ("Mercury" project) planned to be implemented in the Aliaga region of Izmir, Turkey with the British company “Ineos”,  said  Petkim Director-General, head of SOCAR Turkey Refinery and Petrochemical Business Unit Anar Mammadov, APA-Economics reports citing Bloomberg.

According to him, “SOCAR Turkey” was previously discussing the application issue of this project with BP comnpany. But last year, BP has withdrawn from all petrochemical projects and sold its assets to Ineos company: “Certainly, Ineos may be our partner in this investment, if there is such request”.
