Production of diesel and gasoline fuel, meeting Euro-5 standards, is considered in Azerbaijan in 2021-2022 within framework of development and renovation project, carried out in SOCAR’s Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, SOCAR told APA-Economics.
Works aimed at increasing production capability of the plant up to 7,5 bln. tonnes, are planned to be completed in 2024-2025.
According to the information, currently, second and third stages of modernization and renovation project are carried out in the Oil Refinery, established in 1953. One of the purposes of the project is to improve ecological condition in Baku. Several risks for environment appear during use of old equipment during production processes and modernization works will also permit to decrease such kinds of risks to minimum level. To this end modern technology, meeting international standards, is considered to be implemented.
