TANAP will reach full transport capacity in 2022

2.2 billion cubic meters of gas planned to be transported via the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) Next year, Director General of the TANAP consortium Saltuk Duzyol said, APA reports.

According to him,  next year 12.2 billion cubic meters of gas will be pumped via TANAP, including gas intended for Turkey and Europe.

TANAP will reach full transport capacity (16 billion cubic meters) in 2022.

S. Duzyol also noted that TANAP is fully ready to transport commercial gas to Europe.

The official of the consortium stressed that from commissioning more than 7,5 bln. cubic meters of gas was delivered via TANAP to Turkey.

 Currently, the annual transport capacity of TANAP is 16 bln. cubic meters. The transport capacity of the pipeline may be increased up to 31 bln. cubic meters.

 Note that the TANAP pipeline is a central element of the Southern Gas Corridor. Currently, Azerbaijani gas is transported to Turkey through this pipeline. After the launch of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) this year, TANAP will begin transporting gas to Europe to the Turkish-Greek border.
