Turkey increases import of Azerbaijani gas by 21%

During January-February of this year, Turkey imported from Azerbaijan over 1,804.96 mln. cubic meters of gas which is 21% more compared to relevant period of 2019. Thereby, Azerbaijan has occupied the second place in the total gas import of Turkey, "APA-Economics" reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulation Department (EPDK).

During January-February of 2019, Turkey imported from Azerbaijan 1,491.59 mln. cubic meters of gas.

The report says Russia occupies the first place for export of gas to Turkey. During January-February of this year approximately 3,322.14 mln. cubic meters of “blue fuel” were exported from this country to Turkey. And Iran settled in the third place, transported 1,471.4 mln. cubic meters of gas to Turkey during the reporting period.

During January-February of this year, Turkey’s gas import made up 11,250.18 mln. cubic meters, is noted in the report.

Note that last year Turkey imported from Azerbaijan over 9.58 bln. cubic meters f gas which is 27.2% more compared with the same period of 2018.
