Azerbaijan sharply increased alternative energy production in last 10 years

141.5 mln. kw/ h electrical energy was produced during 2009-2018 by wind power plants in Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.

During the last 11 years, the highest energy production index in wind power plants was recorded in 2018-82,7 mln . kw/ h, while the lowest index was recorded in 2010- 500 thousand. kw / h.

According to the calculations, the wind power plants have increased energy production by 39,4 times from 2008 until 2018 in the country.

Moreover, the increase has been recorded in energy production by the solar power plants in Azerbaijan as well. Thus, the aforementioned plants produced 120,1 mln kw / h energy during 2013-2018 years.
