Volume of gas transported to Turkey via TANAP surpassed 3 bln c/m

The volume of natural gas transported to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) has surpassed 3 billion cubic meters, said TANAP Director-General Saltuk Duzyol in the interview with Anadolu Agency, APA reports.

He noted that Turkey will commence purchasing natural gas in the amount of 6 billion cubic meters annually starting from late June 2020.

We transported 3.08 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey by the end of October. Turkey will begin to buy natural gas in the amount of 6 billion cubic meters annually starting from late June 2020.

Saying TANAP is the most important part of the Southern Gas Corridor project S. Duzyol noted that, some time is required to complete the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project.

He emphasized that commercial gas to Europe could begin in the last quarter of next year.

“The gas we transport via TANAP is the cheapest gas that Turkey imports from its current natural gas supplier countries exist. We hope that Azerbaijan will become Europe's new supplier of gas next year”, said S. Duzyol.
