The minister said that Kazakhstan not only stands in support of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict’s settlement in keeping with the norms of international law and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, but is also interested to put to the test the successful reconciliation mission in settling this bitter problem between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“The condition that Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) must not damage Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity was also laid down by Nursultan Nazarbayev. This principal position shared by him at the Moscow summit of heads of states of EEU member countries on May 29, 2014 was a step to prevent the export of products produced in Nagorno Karabakh to the EEU member countries. This position allowed us to include such an item in the Protocol of 13th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Joint Inter-governmental Commission on economic cooperation. According to that item, Azerbaijan asks Kazakhstan not to allow sale, export and import of products in the occupied territories, including Nagorno Karabakh as well as companies to engage in economic activity in these territories”.
