In January-August 2017 the production and services in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam made up AZN 1,138.1 million, up 0.1% by contrast to a year earlier.
Production in the water supply, waste treatment and processing sector dropped 1% to AZN 197.5 million.
In eight months of 2017 Azerbaijan produced 15,243,000,000 kWh of energy, up 1% in comparison to 2016.
Of this, 1,333.5 kWh makes up water power, which is 7.1% more than previous year, 13,231.4 kWh is heating power production, 2.4% over against 2016.
Wind power stations produced 8.9 kWh of energy, down 19.1% from previous year. Solar power production decreased 34.2% to 28.9 kWh.
