Azerbaijani president: Economy will not grow through oil and gas in the coming years

APA reports the Euronews TV channel has released reportage on Ilham Aliyev’s interview and Bakutel 2016.

According to the reportage, every year for over 20 years, Bakutel, the largest exhibition in the region, has been bringing together leading players of the communications market. One hundred and thirty five years ago, the Nobel Brothers laid the first telephone line in Baku and, since then, Azerbaijan has had its own place in the history of the communications industry.

This year the exhibition brought together over 200 companies from 18 countries, with 40% of the total number of participants being returning exhibitors at Bakutel.

President Ilham Aliyev said in his interview to the Euronews that the economy will not grow through oil and gas in the coming years: Because, other spheres of the economy – industry, tourism, service, agriculture and IT are developing. This exhibition demonstrates that Azerbaijan is one of the leaders in the region for telecommunication and IT business“.

According to the reportage, the spheres on videogames and virtual realities exhibition prevail in the exhibition. Worldshop reality market operates within the exhibition. One of the most popular stands in here is a stand of Formula One held in Baku. There also expositions of telecommunication network, wireless communication, satellite communication, office technologies in IT, mobile technologies in 4G and 5G formats.

Author of the reportage stresses the importance of the exhibition: “Bakuel has obtained a status of main business square where global and regional business relations are established”.
