Construction of Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB), which will transport Azerbaijani gas to Bulgaria, is expected to commence at year-end, Rosen Simitchiev, Adviser to the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria, said at the conference "Southern Gas Corridor and Energy Security in South-East Europe" held in Baku.
According to him, the construction works are expected to commence at the end of 2018 and the first part of the interconnector is expected to complete in 2020.
He said there is not ay problem for financing of the project: ‘Investment cost is €220 million, of which 1/3 is grant from EU’.
