“Every year thousand of our religious citizens make pilgrimage to sacred places situated in foreign countries. This year as well, there is a significant number of our citizens who intend to make pilgrimage to those places”, wrote the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli in his letter to the chairman of the Turan Research Center Public Association, Professor Azhdar Taghioghlu (Ismayilov), APA reports.

The committee chairman noted that due to the coronavirus threat, unlike the previous years, the opportunity has emerged for the persons intending to make pilgrimage to spend the funds allocated for pilgrimages this year for the purpose of helping people in need.

Note that chairman of “Turan Research Center” Public Union professor Ajdar Taghioglu (Ismailov) has appealed with a letter to the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh and Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli.

“It is obvious to everyone by the media that the price of Hajj pilgrimage for this year has been determined USD 4490 and nearly 1500 quotas have been allocated. I think that if you appeal to these pilgrims in such a difficult time of the Motherland and humanity, they will pay the amount allocated for the Hajj pilgrimage without hesitation to those who are homeless, low-income, sick and have no money for treatment, students who need payment, shortly to people in need in the motherland,” A. Taghiglu noted in his appeal.
