Azerbaijan celebrates Gurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha). According to the decision of Cabinet of Ministers “On Holidays of Nowruz, Ramadan, and Gurban”, Gurban Bayrami (Eid al-Adha) is celebrated on August 12-13 in Azerbaijan this year, APA reports.

The holiday prayer of Eid al-Adha will be performed in Ajdarbay mosque at 08:00 a.m., in Tezepir mosque at 9:00 a.m. on August 12.

Gurban Bayrami (Eid al-Adha) or the religious holiday of sacrifice is one of the most sacred holidays in the Islamic world. In the lunar-based Islamic calendar, Gurban Bayrami (Eid al-Adha) falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts for three days. Muslims can sacrifice a sheep, ram, cow, or camel in the ceremony.
