Due to celebration of Eid-al Fitr today in neighboring countries, some people consider today as a holiday and some say they will perform holiday prayer tomorrow, APA reports.
Chief of press service of Caucasus Muslims Office Rahima Dadashova told that a group of people create confusion every year: “However in Azerbaijan the new moon will be observed at evening time today. Holiday prayer will be performed tomorrow”.
Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory’s press service told APA that the picture spread in social network regarding observation of new moon is disinformation and was shot in 2007: “Eid al Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow. New moon will be observed between 20:00 and 21:00 in western direction”.
Note that according to the official information from CMO, due to end of month of Ramadan holiday prayer will be performed on June 5 at 08:00 at Ajdarbay mosque and at 09:00 at the Taza Pir mosque.
