Number of Azerbaijani citizens, travelled abroad this year, revealed

In January-March of the current year, the number of Azerbaijanis travelling abroad decreased by 8.4 times to 111,1 thousand in annual comparison, State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.

45.2% of citizens visited Turkey, 19.7% Russian Federation, 9.2% Georgia, 6.9% Iran, while 19% other countries. 75% of the travellers has been men, 25% were women. During the period, number of Azerbaijani citizens, travelled to Iran has decreased by 41.6 times, while to Georgia by 27.3 times, to the Russian Federation by 8.7 times, to Turkey by 1.8% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

In January-March of 2021, 67.5% of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan travelling abriad, used air transportation, while 25.8% railway and automobile road, 6.7% used sea transport.
