Hotels’ requirement of marriage certificate by hotels was more commonplace in the past than it is now, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nazim Samadov said at the meeting with the members of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC).
He noted that discussions started after media paid attention to this issue: “The Ministry repeatedly stated that hotels’ requirement of marriage certificate is illegal. These facts exist now, but number of them declines gradually. If anyone faces such a fact, they can apply to the ministry”.
Samadov added that the marriage certificate can be required by any employee of the hotel arbitrarily: “However, the ministry interferes in this issue. We meet with entrepreneurs, explain them how to treat. There are people unaware of legislation in some hotels”.
