Number of tourists travelling to Azerbaijan increased 24.5%

APA reports that chairman of the Council, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said that steps should be taken to increase the number of tourists travelling to Azerbaijan, organize meaningful recreation for local tourists: “Therefore, National Tourism Promotion Bureau was instructed to promote the proposals submitted by tourism companies and develop special programmes for recreation of local citizens. Number of tourists travelling to Azerbaijan increases year-on-year. Number of tourists made up 956,000 in 2017 while it was 768,000 in 2016. This means that the number of tourists increased 188,000 people or 24.5%. They spent AZN 91,134,000 this year, AZN 40,629,000 in 2016”.
