Turkish states national libraries Conference meets in Ankara

The first meeting of Turkish states National Libraries Conference (TSNLC) was held in Ankara on June 4-9, director of National Library named after Akhundov Karim Tahirov told APA. According to him Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev made such proposal in the conference of TURKSOY last December. The meeting of newly established body, which aims to enhance the work of libraries, will be held once a year. Every meeting will elect new chairman. Ankara meeting elected first chairman. Tuncal Acar, director of TSNLC was the first chairman of Turkish national Library. The meeting of the conference debated issues like links between Turkish states libraries, history of Turkish nations, protection and propagation of literature, publication of catalogs. The meeting decided publishing collective catalog of rare manuscripts saved in Turkish statesâ€™ national libraries./APA/
