Azerbaijani chess player to compete in FIDE Grand Prix

Bakı - APA. The strongest grand masters of the world are gathering in Istanbul, apasport.az website reports. 12 chess players will participate in FIDE Grand Prix tournament organized among women for the first time.

The tournament will start on March 7. Zeynab Mammadyarova (Azerbaijan), Koneru Hampi (2621, India), Yifan Hou (2571, China), Antoaneta Stefanova (2557, Bulgaria), Pia Cramling (2548, Sweden), Mari Seba (2529, France), Maya Chiburdanidze (2516, Georgia), Chen Zu (2496, Qatar), Elina Danielian (2496, Armenia), Yang Shen (2448, China) and Betul Yildiz (2216) will compete in the tournament.

Mammadyarova (2362) only leaves behind Yildiz.
