25 protesters demanding Pashinyan’s resignation detained in Yerevan

A large number of police forces in Yerevan have detained 25 participants of protest rally demanding the resignation of Prime Minister of Armenia Nicole Pashinyan’s resignation, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

According to the information, detainees have been taken to the police station.

In the morning, a large number of police forces were deployed around the Republic square and the government building in Yerevan, police barricades have been erected around buildings 1 and 3 of the Cabinet of Ministers. Despite the protest rally, N. Pashinyan has entered building number 3.

Note that on February 22, the “For the sake of saving the homeland” movement announced that they will close all entrances to cabinets of a government building. A representative of the Dashnaktsutyun Party Gegam Manukyan noted that the opposition does not plan to attack the building. He noted that the purpose is to demonstrate the government’s fear of the opposition.
