Earlier in the day, Kira Yarmysh, a spokeswoman for Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, suggested that Navalny could have drunk some poisonous substance mixed into his tea, APA reports citing Sputnik.
Video footage that recently appeared on the Internet allegedly shows that the cup from which Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny drank his tea was handed to him by his aide Ilya Pakhomov.
Navalny was on a flight from the Siberian city of Tomsk to Moscow when he suddenly fell ill. The airplane made an emergency landing in the city of Omsk, where Navalny was hospitalized and put on a ventilator in a coma.
Navalny's spokeswoman expressed the belief that he was poisoned, saying that the opposition figure drank tea in the airport of Tomsk.
