Armenia launches criminal case against businessman who provided army with weapons

Armenian National Security Service has launched a criminal case against businessman David Galstyan, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

D.Galstyan is accused of embezzling large amounts of budget funds together with a group of employees of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

It was stated that these funds were allocated for defense procurement.

D. Galtsyan has several companies specialized in the field of arms trade. These companies are one of the main arm suppliers of the Armenian army. He owns the Neutron NGO, which assembles Kalashnikov assault rifles in Yerevan.

In general, 4 criminal cases have been launched against several officials of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff for abuse of power, negligence, and misappropriation of large sums of money.
