“Changing the status quo in Transnistria may lead to instability,” spokesman for Kremlin Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, Russia hopes to discuss the issue of peacekeeping and the possibility of sudden actions: “Russia conducts crucial functions. Of course, a change in the status quo based on the spirit and letter of international law can certainly lead to serious instability. That is why we hope that everything will be discussed and no sudden actions will be taken in this regard.”

Note that Moldova's newly elected President Maia Sandu has stated that she intends to discuss with Russian leadership the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria.
