Lukashenko appoints several top security officials

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed a new state secretary of the Security Council and chairs of the State Security Committee and the State Control Committee on Thursday, APA reports citing BelTA.

Valery Vakulchik, who until now worked as Chairman of the State Security Committee, was appointed State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus. The corresponding decision was made by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 3 September.

Ivan Tertel has been appointed Chairman of the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus. He previously led the country's State Control Committee. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the corresponding personnel decision on 3 September.
