Alexei Navalny remains in an artificially induced coma and is in a serious condition, but there is no threat to his life, Charité, a German clinic where the Russian opposition figure is undergoing treatment, said in a statement on Monday, APA reports citing Sputnik.
The clinical findings indicate the presence of a substance pertaining to a group of so-called cholinesterase inhibitors in Navalny's system, Charité said. The inhibitors block the normal breakdown of acetylcholine, the main neurotransmitter found in the body.
