Pompeo and Lavrov held telephone conversation

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed the next steps on arms control issues in a call with his Russian counterpart on Wednesday, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

It is noted that the heads of the two foreign affairs agencies also discussed “several bilateral issues”, including global efforts to combat coronavirus.

In April, US leader Donald Trump said that during telephone conversations with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, they discussed arms control issues.

In a call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov last month, Pompeo had said any future arms control talks needed to include China.
