Russia resumed its transit of natural gas to the Kaliningrad region via Lithuania on Tuesday night, according to the latest data on Lithuania's gas transmission system operator Amber Grid's website, APA reports.
Amber Grid said on Tuesday morning that natural gas transit via Lithuania to Kaliningrad had been temporarily suspended at Gazprom's request. Gas to the Russian enclave near the Baltic Sea is supplied from Belarus via Lithuania. Russian gas giant Gazprom cited sufficient gas stocks in the underground storage facility in Kaliningrad as the reason for gas transit suspension.
