“New President of Moldova Maia Sandu’s intention to withdraw the operative group of Russian troops from Transnistrian is directed to violate the efforts of peaceful settlement, said the official representative of Russian MFA Mariya Zakharova at the press conference held today, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“We consider this statement as a purpose to undermine the efforts of peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian problem. The mandate of the peacekeeping operation clearly indicates the duration of our participation in it until a political agreement is reached regarding the settlement of the conflict. There is a long time for this,” said an official of Russian MFA.

M. Zakharova noted that thanks to the presence of Russian peacekeepers in the Transnistrian region, stability has been maintained for 25 years, and no blood has been shed.
