The Russian Ministry of Health on Thursday updated temporary guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of new coronavirus infection. In particular, from six to nine, the list of drugs that can be prescribed for the treatment of the disease in adults has been expanded, APA reports citing the website of Ministry.
According to the recommendations, in the treatment of coronavirus infection, the use of drugs is possible: hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, mefloquine, azithromycin, tocilizumab, nadroparin calcium, lopinavir plus ritonavir, recombinant interferon beta-1b and recombinant interferon alpha.
It is also noted that three more drugs – umifenovir, remdesivir, favipiravir – are at the stage of clinical trials in patients with confirmed coronavirus. “According to published data, these drugs can also be used today in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. However, the current information on the results of treatment with these drugs does not allow us to draw an unambiguous conclusion about their effectiveness or inefficiency, and therefore their use is permissible by decision the medical commission in the prescribed manner, if the potential benefit to the patient exceeds the risk of their use, “the text says.
The fifth version of the document also contains recommendations on the procedure and principles of organizing emergency, primary health care and specialized medical care in medical organizations and at home.
