Talks on Libya in Moscow continue for over 4 hours - UPDATED

The meeting held in Moscow between Russia and Turkey in “2+2” format in regard to settlement of Libya conflict has been continuing for over 4 hours, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

The Leader of the Libyan National Army (LNO) Khalifa Haftar and the Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) of Libya Fayez Mustafa al-Sarraj have also joined the talks.

The main purpose of the talks is sigining of ceasefire agreement between the parties.

The multilateral consultations regarding the Libyan conflict have been held both in “2+2” format initially and in delegations’ separate meetings format later, and they are held behind closed doors.

It is expected that Heads of Russia’s and Turkey’s MFAs will come up with a joint statement for the press regarding the results of the talks.

A meeting has begun in Moscow between Russia and Turkey in “2+2” format involving Foreign and Defense Ministers of the two countries, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

In the meeting held at the “Receptions’ House” of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Head of Russian MFA Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Defense Minister, the Army General Sergey Shoigu, Turkey’s Head of MFA Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and Head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Hakan Fidan are participating.
