Wanted Azerbaijani citizen detained in Russia’s Volgograd

The wanted Azerbaijani has been detained in Volgograd city of Russia, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Volgograd Region stated, APA reports citing TASS.

Criminal investigation officers of the Volgograd police detained a wanted Azerbaijani, who was suspected of exceeding his official authority with respect to his colleagues and extorting money from them

“Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region, assisting colleagues from the Republic of Azerbaijan, established and detained a wanted citizen of a foreign state,” the statement reads.

Measures are currently underway to extradite the detainee to Azerbaijan.
