“At the moment it is impossible to say exactly what caused the frequency fluctuations in the electric power system of Armenia,” said Hakob Vardanyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia, APA reports citing Aysor.
He stressed that according to one of the versions, oscillations registered in Armenia can be a consequence of fluctuations in the frequency of the Iranian power system, since the power systems of Armenia and Iran are synchronized, therefore, any fluctuation in one of the systems acts on the other.
“We contacted our Iranian colleagues, they also stated that they had similar fluctuations in the same period of time, but we cannot say now that this is related to Iran. This is the most likely option, ” Vardanyan noted.
