At least two killed by gas explosion in Russian tanker - VIDEO

At least two people died and one is considered missing after a gas explosion occurred on the tanker Zaliv Amerika in the Gulf of Nakhodka, Russian Far East, APA reports citing Russian media.

"According to the investigation, this morning in the Gulf of Nakhodka there was an explosion of the gas and air mixture in a tanker, without a fire being declared.

According to preliminary data, two people died, the search for another person is underway" said the Russian Search Committee in a statement.

For its part, the Public Prosecutor's Office informed that the incident did not cause oil spills and that there is no threat of sinking of the ship.
