Crude oil transportation by Georgian Railways increased by 7%

8.57 million tonnes of crude oil have been transported by Georgian Railways in the first 10 months of 2019, APA’s Georgian Bureau reports citing statement of Georgian Railways Company.

According to the statement, this indicator is 7% more compared to the same period of 2018.

In total 64,000 containers (TEU) have been transported by railways in Georgia in January-October of the current year. And this is 34% more compared to the same period of last year and twice more compared to 2016.

And 1 million tonnes of cargo have been transported by railways in the country in just October, which is the highest indicator in 2019.

The volume of cargo transported in October of 2018 was 825 tonnes.
